Pottery Workshop

Mug & Breakfast Bowl

Start your mornings with your very own handmade mug for your coffee or cuppa and a decadent matching breakfast bowl for your porridge or smoothie-bowl.

In this workshop we make the ideal breakfast set to start your every day the right way - with a full belly.

Your masterpieces will be reduction fired by Alex Rae in her gas kiln giving them her unique, rustic finishing touch, and safely posted to you within 6-8 weeks to allow time for drying and firing.

The gas kiln takes Alex around 9 hours to fire and is what she calls her ‘labour of love’ as she sets her alarm for every twenty minutes to check and record the temperature and pressure, and manually make any adjustments. It is not like an electric kiln used by most potters, the manual process is much more involved but the results of reduction firing are truly unique and no two pieces will ever look the same.

Alex allows for a maximum of six people for each workshop to ensure an intimate experience, with a minimum of two for the workshop to go ahead.

The cost is $260 per person and you will have four hours to mindfully create, nourish your soul and self with food and banter, and connect through clay.

You will be offered a fresh grazing platter to share during the workshop - please notify Alex of any food sensitivities, allergies, or preferences at time of booking or two days prior to workshop.

This workshop is, as are all of Alex’s workshops, suitable for all levels of experience from beginners to experts.
